Cole Palmer's latest goal has seen him equal an impressive record in his debut season at Chelsea.

Palmer broke the deadlock against West Ham in the 15th minute when he was quickest to a loose ball in the box to finish past Alphonse Areola at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

It is his 21st goal in the Premier League, while the 21-year-old already has nine assists - meaning he has 30 goal contributions in the league in his debut season.

Only one other player has matched such a feat - Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink after he signed for Chelsea in 2000, who scored 23 times and made seven assists.

And Palmer could have pulled away from the Dutchman when he set Conor Gallagher up with a perfect ball across the box.

However, the midfielder's shot cannoned off the crossbar in an attempt he really should have put away.

Palmer signed for the Blues from Manchester City in a deal worth £45million but has already looked a snip with how quickly he has adjusted to life in west London.

The youngster turns 22 on Monday with his latest strike meaning he is just the third player in Premier League history to reach 30+ goal involvements in a single season while aged 21 or younger, after Robbie Fowler (94/95 & 95/96) and Chris Sutton (93/94).
