Colin Calderwood- The current Cambridge United boss has emerged as the front runner for the Orient job. He guided the U’s to safety in the Football League last season and his side are currently 11th in the table. Would he leave for a fellow fourth tier side?

Daryl McMahon- The 35-year-old has been linked with the Brisbane Road post despite only taking charge of League Two side Macclesfield Town in August. He played for Leyton Orient from 2004 to 2007. McMahon has previously managed non-league outfit Ebbsfleet United.

Derek Adams- The Scottish boss has been available since he was sacked by Plymouth Argyle in April. He guided the Pilgrims to promotion to League One in 2017 and kept them up the season after. The Scotsman has also managed Ross County in the past and did an impressive job with the Scottish Premiership side.
