Middlesbrough manager picks out four West Brom players to be wary of this weekend

Middlesbrough face first placed West Bromwich Albion on Saturday afternoon, with both sides needing a win under their belt.

West Brom will be hoping to pull away from second placed Nottingham Forest, who currently sit on the same points tally as the Baggies. Preston North End, Swansea City and Leeds United are all hot on their tails too.

Middlesbrough on the other hand are at the opposite end of the table, and having picked up just two wins all season, they currently sit in 20th position.

Boro Head Coach Jonathan Woodgate understands the task at hand this weekend, and has spoke highly of the opposition. Speaking to The Hartlepool Mail, he picked out four first team West Brom players that his side will need to watch out for.

“West Brom have some fantastic players, especially going forward, but I believe my players can be as good as theirs” he said.

“The players they have going forward, they have options off the bench in Grady Diangana, Kyle Edwards. Charlie Austin and [Kenneth] Zohore up front.”

Diangana is currently on loan from West Ham United, and was a player Middlesbrough were interested in in the summer transfer window. Instead, the Teessiders opted for a permanent signing, with Diangana’s Hammers’ teammate Marcus Browne arriving on a four-year deal.
West Brom are the second highest scorers in the division behind Preston, and Boro have already stifled Preston at The Riverside this season in their 1-1 draw. Woodgate will be hoping they can do something similar against Slavan Bilic’s side this time around.
